Everything in this home is voice-controlled — just say "Hey Google" from any room to control the lights, TV, music, and more. No apps or accounts needed.
Quick Reference
Lights
The lamps and accent lights in the living room and both bedrooms are smart bulbs that can change color and dim. Try these:
- "Hey Google, turn on the bedroom lights"
- "Hey Google, set the bedroom lights to blue"
- "Hey Google, dim the living room lights to 50%"
- "Hey Google, set the lights to warm white"
The ceiling lights in the kitchen, dining area, and living room are on smart switches. You can control them two ways:
- Voice — "Hey Google, turn on the kitchen lights"
- Wall switch — just use the physical switch like normal
Our recommendation
We prefer the lamps over the overhead lights for everyday use — they create a much cozier ambiance, especially in the evenings. The overhead lights are bright and great for cooking or tasks.
TV
The living room TV is voice-controllable:
- "Hey Google, turn on the living room TV"
- "Hey Google, turn off the living room TV"

Google Home Speakers
There are Google Home speakers throughout the house, all ready to use:
- Living room — Google Home Display (with screen)
- Kitchen — Google Home Mini
- Bedroom 1 — Google Home Mini
- Bedroom 2 — Google Home Mini
Beyond smart home
The speakers can also play music, set timers, check the weather, answer questions, and more — just ask.
